$10,000 grant

Bendigo Winter Night Shelter (BWNS) is a community-led response to homelessness in Central Victoria. Funding from Benefit Bendigo, and other generous supporters, goes directly towards the operational costs of running the shelter during the winter season, when cold temperatures increase the risks associated with sleeping rough.

Guests are collected from a central location in Bendigo each evening, arriving at shelter to the welcome of trained volunteers who support a routine while maintaining a calm, respectful environment for everyone. A shared meal, along with access to showers and a safe place to sleep is provided – small luxuries that many of us take for granted.

BWNS works alongside local agencies and outreach services to help connect guests with longer-term housing and support options where possible.

You can support BWNS in a number of ways. Community support is essential to the success of BWNS. Donations and partnerships help provide meals, bedding, hygiene supplies and essential equipment.
